As a part of our mini film festival at Japan Festival 2017, we will be screening some classic Japanese horror that will thrill & chill even the bravest of cinema goers! Following the release of ‘Rings’ on February 3rd 2017, we’ll be screening the terrifying Japanese original ‘Ringu’.
About The Film
‘Ringu’ was remade for western audiences in 2002, kickstarting ‘The Ring’ franchise which triggered a longrunning trend of Hollywood remakes of Japanese horror, including The Grudge, Dark Water, The Eye and Mirrors.
In this psychological horror story from Japan, a legend circulates among teenagers that if you watch a certain video you will die 7 days later. When a group of teenagers die after watching the tape, a journalist tracks down the video and begins the desperate search for the answers that will lift the curse.
Please note: This film is suitable for ages 15 and over, and will be screened in it’s original format with English subtitles.
